Location: Remote within the U.S.; Federal Way, WA considered for hybrid
Number of Direct Reports: 6
Required Experience: Bachelor's degree, preferably in adult education. Master's degree preferred. Requires 8-10 years of work experience in organization development with proven ability to work with and influence at all levels of the organization. 3 years or more of supervisory experience.
Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.A. for any employer.
Travel: Up to 10% of time in the U.S.
Estimated Salary Range: $120,000.00 - $160,000.00
The Job
World Vision is looking for a Director of Christian Leadership Development to join the People and Culture Division of World Vision USA (WVUS). This leader will serve on a strategic Human Resources Leadership Team and seek to develop leaders at the organization. S/he will oversee our training programs for staff at all levels.
This individual will:
- Develop, strengthen, and build WVUS leadership, and embed excellence in leadership across the organization.
- Build up leaders on a limited budget.
- Discern where the best use of organizational funds are spent regarding leadership development.
- Understands organizational development – we need someone who is not just a facilitator but a true business leader and developer of leaders.
- Lead end-to-end Christ-centered leadership development program and experience. Work with senior leaders to understand the needs, the vision, the evolving needs, and use a whole systems approach to design and deliver Christian leadership development strategy across the organization towards the achievement of ministry goals.
- Help carry out our Christian organization’s mission, vision, and strategies.
- Personify the ministry of World Vision by witnessing to Christ and ministering to others through life, deed, word, and sign.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Proven track record and past performance in leading leadership development in a medium to larger-sized complex organization.
- Able to showcase skills as an excellent HR practitioner based on past HR, training, and development experience.
- Extensive professional expertise and experience leading learning and performance, leadership development programs in a holistic, strategic, enterprise-wide level, having built talented and driven leaders in organizations.
- Ideal candidate is a Christ-centered servant leader. Self-driven, high degree of ownership end to end, strong business and financial acumen, resourceful, systems thinker, able balance multiple demands.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering results - assessing needs and balancing resources to deliver high-impact and high-value work.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Keep Christ central in individual and corporate life.
- Actively participate in and contribute to the spiritual disciplines of the organization (Christian conduct, devotions, chapel, prayer, worship); incorporate WV Core Values into decisions within scope of role.
- Lead People and Culture Division’s Transformational Christian Leadership strategic pillar. Design a holistic, enterprise-wide Christian leadership development program to equip, enhance, and develop WVUS leaders across all levels of leadership.
- Identify and address critical gaps in Christian leadership development by anticipating future organizational learning needs, working with key stakeholders and partners, and analyzing ministry priorities and needs.
- Define and manage work using systems thinking to design and implement systems and programs, aligned with organizational development and talent management areas of People & Culture, to maximize the impact of Christian leadership development.
- Influence and manage various stakeholders across the organization including ministry leadership teams, cross-functional P&C teams, external partners, ministry needs, insights and priorities, complex learning deliveries, and change management.
- Design and deliver holistic and scaled learning solutions – needs assessment, design, build, deliver strategic solutions. Ensures and oversees deliverables on time, on budget, on agreed-upon scope. Communicate and manage across the organization and various stakeholders. Measures return on investment and effectiveness of programs and solutions.
- Successful deliverables in the first 18 months to include alignment in senior leadership the core leadership competencies to right stage the organization, launch enterprise wide leadership program for emerging leaders, front-line, mid-levels, senior levels of leadership, measure results and effectiveness of programs.
- Serve on WVUS People & Culture leadership team, participating in strategic and technical planning sessions for the organization and individual ministry units to meet organizational goals.
- Oversee World Vision US' Faith at Work team - Chapel program and annual Day of Prayer and Partnership-wide Prayer initiatives.
- Lead Christian leadership talent pipeline and organizational learning performance culture – works with senior leadership team in talent review, identification of and development of top talent and high potential employees to assume leadership roles within the organization.
- Lead in the effective design and administration of the organization's culture of excellence/ performance management, learning and performance.
- Managerial responsibilities for direct reports and team.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, preferably in adult education or equivalent (eight years) work experience.
- Master's degree preferred.
- In addition to education or education equivalent, requires work experience in organization development and human resources with proven ability to work with and influence at all levels of the organization; 8-10 years.
- Previous full-time experience in staff development and human resources is required.
- Must bring three years of staff management experience.
Salary Range & Benefits:
- WVUS Pay Grade Level: 230
- The full range for this position is $117,200.00 - $197,028.55
- Typical hiring range is $120,000.00 - $160,000.00
- This range applies to locations with a market similar to our Federal Way and Washington D.C. offices. A different range may apply based on your work location.
- Job offers are based on relevant qualifications and pay equity.
