SPA's Sea Land Air (SLA) Division supports a diverse portfolio of national security government clients, including the Undersea Enterprise, the Navy Surface Community, the Navy MPTE Enterprise, the Air Force, Army, DoD Agencies, DARPA, international clients including the Canadian Navy and Australian Defence Force. Our primary objective is to provide timely, objective and analytic assessments that integrate the policy, operational, technical, programmatic and acquisition aspects of our clients' challenges. Leveraging both in-domain and cross-domain expertise to maximize our clients' success, SLA Division acts as trusted agents to senior decision-makers and key leaders and excels at providing data driven analytic insights, systems engineering, strategies and plans that address current and emerging challenges to national security.
SPA's Operations Research and Cyber Analysis (ORCA) Group develops and employs simulation system products in support of operations, experimentation, and the acquisition analysis process. ORCA analysts apply Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) principles and tools to identify and analyze trends in big data to solve real-world problems. ORCA software engineers and cyber security professionals develop, build, and deploy custom hardware and software solutions to meet our client's toughest challenges.
SPA's ORCA division is seeking a mid-level Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Analyst. SPA employs its simulation system products in support of operations, experimentation, and the acquisition analysis process. MBSE Analysts apply MBSE principles and tools to create models that communicate complex system concepts and support the system design and engineering process. Candidates must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

The successful candidate will participate in project teams to:
- Conduct data collection and specification reviews.
- Develop and maintain system-of-systems models using commercial and proprietary MBSE tools.
- Assist in the preparation of deliverables to include presentations and written reports of findings and recommendations.
- Participate in customer meetings and briefings.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are commensurate with experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. California Pay Transparency Range: $95k-125k
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or related field
- At least 2 years of industry experience with MBSE, with demonstrated expertise with Cameo Systems Modeler and/or similar modeling tools
- Familiarity with Unified Profile for DoDAF/MODAF (UPDM), United Architecture Framework (UAF), Systems Modeling Language (SysML), Unified Modeling Language (UML), and other MBSE languages, frameworks, and ontologies
- Coursework or experience that demonstrates understanding of object-oriented principles as they apply to programming and/or system engineering
- Demonstrated experience with Systems Engineering and Systems-of-Systems Engineering principles, processes, methodologies, and best practices
- Ability to translate system requirements and concept of operations into a model format following MBSE principles
- Ability to leverage architecture data, modeling, simulation, and analysis assessment processes to evaluate metrics across multiple courses of action
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Must be able to work both collaboratively as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision
- Current DoD Top Secret clearance is required, and the ability to maintain it throughout employment
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Math, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, Operations Research, Physical Science, or a related field
- Experience in analysis of complex, system-of-systems designs; preferably of C4ISR systems
- 2 years of industry experience with DoD / Navy programs, systems and missions
