Description:
The Assistant Men’s Basketball coach, assists with all phases of coaching an intercollegiate team, including recruiting, scouting, game management, promotions, and supporting our student athletes on and off the floor. A strong work ethic and passion for college athletics is required.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Recruit student-athletes according to Talladega College and NAIA
- Assists in preparing events and practices.
- Ability to use and operate synergy for scouting and film breakdown.
- Carries out scouting assignments as outlined by the Head Coach
- Cooperates with other staff to ensure that the student-athlete is provided with services to succeed academically and personally.
- Maintains good relationship with alumnus, parents, officials, volunteers, and fans.
- Oversee the strength and conditioning programs of our student athletes in and out of season within the head coaches’ guidelines.
- Performs other duties as requested by the Head Coach.
- Weekend work, irregular hours, travel, and physical demands are required for this position.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid driver’s license is preferred.
- Proven coaching or playing experience in the assigned sport.
- Ability to recruit and retain student-athletes.
- Experience with Synergy is preferred.
