The Alvarez College of Business is UTSA's second-largest college and is home to more than 7,900 undergraduate and graduate students in 29-degree programs, supported by 205 tenure/tenure-track and fixed-term faculty and a dedicated cadre of staff. Department
The department has 12 tenured/tenure-track faculty members. Faculty members are actively engaged in research and support the existing doctoral, master, and undergraduate programs within the college. Untenured, tenure-track faculty teach three courses per year.
Position Summary
The Department of Finance at the Alvarez College of Business at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) is accepting applications for a faculty position as an Assistant Professor.
It is expected this position will support offering new opportunities to Finance students. The ideal candidate will have a record that demonstrates excellent teaching experience in Finance and general finance classes at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications: (1) Ph.D. in Finance or related field (2) Strong evidence of scholarly research, i.e., a portfolio of research papers that are published or with evidence of potential for publication in top-tier finance journals.
Preferred Qualifications: (1) Research in Financial Technology and Data Analytics and related fields (2) Ability to teach and develop Fintech courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels (3) One or more years of experience after completion of PhD.
Tenure is contingent upon Board of Regents approval.
Salary
Salary and the supporting start-up package are competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. UTSA offers an attractive package of benefits, including medical and dental coverage plus a choice of participation in the Teacher Retirement System or an Optional Retirement System.
