Position Duties
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the direction of the Coordinator of Student Support Programs and Engagement, perform a wide variety of tasks with our food distribution program. Assists with the food pantry set-up, distribution, clean-up, and the operations that go into a smooth and efficient weekly food distribution program.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
- Arrive consistently punctual and prepared to work.
- Maintain regular attendance and comply with attendance record policy.
- Demonstrate positive attitude and behavior.
- Present appropriate appearance.
- Exhibit good interpersonal relations.
- Complete tasks effectively.
- Relate sensitively to all employees.
- Answer telephones, greet the public and provide information.
- Operate computer terminal and incorporate software applications.
- Schedule appointments.
- Process incoming and outgoing mail; duplicate, file, and distribute materials as appropriate.
- Prepare and type correspondence, forms, reports, and a variety of other materials, type from oral direction, or rough copy or notes.
- Monitor office supplies and equipment; notify supervisor of low inventory status or maintenance issues.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE OF:
- Operations, procedures, and rules of office environment.
- Record-keeping techniques.
- Computer and software applications.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
ABILITY TO:
- Follow oral and written directions.
- Learn to interpret specific rules and policies and apply them in a variety of office situations.
- Sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Work with confidentially.
- Speak in public, making presentations to various group size and level of abilities.
- Organizational and follow-up skills.
- Learn and apply knowledge of schedules, procedures and use of equipment and supplies used in an office work environment.
- Perform duties within an office environment with constant interruptions.
Qualification
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or GED
Demonstrates sensitivity to, and understanding of, the diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, ethnic, and disability backgrounds of community college students.
