The WCRA is an established nonprofit reinsurance company with a staff of thirty. We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our team. The Generalist will be actively involved in interviewing and hiring staff, administering payroll, benefits, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Work location: Hybrid (3 days in the office and 2 days telecommuting)
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Primary point of contact for general employee issues, collaboration, coaching, concerns, or information.
· Oversee employee payroll by verifying biweekly processing, monthly and annual reconciliations, and other tasks required to ensure the accuracy of the data and processing.
· Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
· Partner with department management to support all processes within the employee lifecycle to ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures, including recruitment, compensation, performance, staff development, etc.
· Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development.
· Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
· Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
· Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; recommend best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
· Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
· Maintain the Association’s job description database, HR system records, training database, and other HR systems to ensure accurate and complete data.
What You Will Bring:
· Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or equivalent
· Minimum 4 - 6 years of human resource experience, minimum 2 – 3 years as a generalist
· SHRM-CP a plus
· Strong verbal, written, and active listening skills.
· Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workloads effectively.
· Must be a self-starter.
· Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
· Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
· Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
· Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
