Human Resources Specialist

(Non-exempt Employee)

 

Purpose of the Job:

The Human Resource Specialist is responsible for the processing of payroll and the performance of other human resources and administrative duties as designated below.

 

Scope of Responsibility:

Work performed in an office setting

 

Essential Job Functions:

1. Prepares and maintains payroll for proper approval, completeness and compliance with financial policies and procedures.

2. Processes benefit payments and assists Director of Human Resources and Operations with coordination of benefits.

3. Approves processed time sheets.

4. Processes payroll allocations.

5. Reconciles benefit deductions with benefit invoices.

6. Provides payroll and benefit information for billing.

7. Maintains all information in Paylocity.

8. Performs onboarding and exiting procedures.

 

Job Requirements:

1. Must have an Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Human Resources and a minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience with comparable responsibilities.

2. Must have knowledge of computerized accounts systems, preferably payroll and HRIS software.

3. Should have experience working in an organization with multiple office sites.

4. Should have a high level of energy and be comfortable performing multifaceted projects with day-to-day activities.

5. She/he must be well organized and have the ability to work independently.

6. Experience working in a non-profit organization is preferred.

 

Physical Requirements:

1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, or handle, objects, tools, controls or equipment; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; drive.

2. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $31,100.00 - $36,100.00 per year
