Job Description
COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER, School of Engineering, will focus on strategic development, implementation and management of all aspects of communications for the Tata-MIT Alliance. The goals of which include developing innovative technologies relevant to Tata and India in the areas of Green Steel, New Materials, Hydrogen Economy, Energy Storage, Innovations in Mobility, Circularity, Remediation, and Valorization funded by Tata and performed by MIT and Tata researchers, facilitating MIT Student Exchange, hosting Tata Visitors including Visiting Scientists, and supporting Entrepreneurship activities.

Job Requirements:REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree in English, communications, journalism, or similar field; at least five years of professional communications experience in higher education, at a research institution or in journalism, public relations, or marketing; experience planning and implementing communications and strategies and with print and digital communication, user interface trends, and web design best practices; ability to communicate, edit, present directly and eloquently, written and spoken; ability to translate complex technical ideas into clear language and to work independently, as part of a dynamic team, and build productive relationships with faculty, staff, and external audiences; robust organizational, interpersonal, and diplomacy skills; experience with social media content creation, monitoring, metrics, reporting, and using HTML and CMS; discretion with confidential information; and demonstrated design skills and proficiency using Adobe Creative Suite and other modern tools.
