Your Role
The Enterprise Architect, Consultant is a strategic individual contributor role reporting to the Director, Enterprise Architecture. This individual will be a senior member of the Enterprise Architecture organization responsible for developing enterprise architecture strategy across the company. This individual will be responsible for delivering the corporate EA strategy and creating architectural standards that drive technology decisions and practices across the enterprise. In this role, the individual will help the business and the rest of IT to better understand, plan, align, enable, and mature the capabilities needed for Blue Shield to accomplish our mission of offering high quality, affordable healthcare to all Californians.
Your Work
In this role, you will:
- Develop technology blueprints and reference architectures
- Identify, evaluate and recommend solutions that meet business requirements
- Provide architecture consultations and technology decisions aligned with future state strategic architecture
- Collaborate with other architects to create and document standards and patterns that can be leveraged for future re-use, and actively seek opportunities to leverage industry solutions for new business offerings and services
- Monitor and analyze industry technology trends to determine their potential impact or application for the organization
- Provide thought leadership to various stakeholders by analyzing technology, business and operational implications of technology investment decisions
- Create contextual and conceptual models that help document and simplify potentially complex topics
- Provide comprehensive analytical thinking to ensure transformation costs, impact and value are properly understood estimated and controlled across people, process and technology
- Collaborate with customers, vendors, industry consultants and senior company leadership to continuously learn and identify opportunities to advance on our business strategy
Your Knowledge and Experience
- Requires at least 8 years relevant business and IT experience
- Requires at least 2 years of experience in an architecture role
- At least 3 years of experience of working in the healthcare industry preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency in understanding enterprise architecture life cycle methodologies
- Ability to tailor communications to the C-suite level
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong relationship building skills
- Experienced in influencing strategic architecture direction, framing reference architectures, specifying policies and standards, drive consensus on target state architectures, and influence roadmaps
- Skilled in applying strategic architecture direction to project delivery using standard engagement methods
Pay Range:
The pay range for this role is: $ 118800.00 to $ 178200.00 for California.

Please note that this range represents the pay range for this and many other positions at Blue Shield that fall into this pay grade. Blue Shield salaries are based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, location (California, Bay area, or outside California), and current employee salaries for similar roles.
