Full Job Description

The American Diabetes Association is seeking an Associate Director, Education Recognition Program (ERP). Reporting to the Managing Director, Education Recognition Program, the Associate Director performs duties related to international and domestic ERP programs. The Associate Director ensures that programs continue to meet and maintain National standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support (DSMES) and that programs pass on-site audits and annual status checks. This position will have frequent interactions with internal and external stakeholders in the DSMES field. The ideal candidate for this role will have experience in diabetes education, is detail oriented, and has an innovative mindset with an ability to complete projects in a timely and accurate manner. International experience is a plus.

  • This is a grant funded position.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Exhibits professional knowledge of DSMES services including but not limited to ERP development, implementation, and quality review.
  • Provides strong customer support to potential and existing ERP programs, both domestic and international, through professional communication platforms.
  • Involved in international program strategy development.
  • Accountable for international program certification process and relationship management.
  • Manage grant deliverables and grant budget associated with the position.
  • Assists with applications for recognition, including review and approval, communications to applicants and ongoing quality improvement of application management.
  • Independently works to coordinate the complex process of virtual audit notifications with auditors and programs.
  • Implements a process to follow up with programs that have shown interest in ADA ERP Recognition, particularly programs internationally.
  • Assists with symposium development, presentation creation, and program implementation including working with domestic and international speakers.
  • Serves as liaison between ERP and Continuing Education (CE) department for all ERP products that are on the ADA’s Institute of Learning.
  • Serves as ADA’s liaison to the Diabetes Self-Management and Education Interest Group and supports the Leadership Team in planning and achieving goals:
    • Planning and Coordinating webinars
    • Assist with coordinating networking session at Scientific Sessions and corresponding programming
  • Confirming and coordinating speakers for applicable educational events

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree with certification (CDCES) preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working within recognized/accredited DSMES services
  • Experience with billing processes for DSMES
  • Experience with the ADA Education Recognition Program (ERP)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Power Point, and Excel
  • Demonstrates positivity and professional collaboration skills and networking
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and complete projects per established timelines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized self-starter who requires minimal supervision and who excels in a team environment
  • Strong project management, prioritization and implementation skills, with ability to consistently meet deadlines
  • Fluent in Arabic language preferred
