DESCRIPTION

Under the direction of the Practice Manager, the Front Desk Coordinator is the first point of contact for patients. The Front Desk Coordinator performs and coordinates front office patient centered duties, to include, but not limited to, greeting patients, co-pay collection, appointment scheduling, authorizations and referrals. The Front Desk Coordinator serves as a resource for patients, physicians, staff, and ambulatory care managers. Other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • A minimum of three (3) years of previous related experience in a large complex healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of third-party payors including federal, state and private health plans.
  • Demonstrate problem solving ability by using good judgment and applying these skills to assist customers and ensure customers' expectations are met. * Demonstrated computer skills and be able to work between multiple systems during calls.
  • Ability to work in an interactive environment and possess excellent customer service skills both in person and over phone.
  • Have strong organizational skills with demonstrated, independent ability to set priorities, handle deadlines and manage conflicting demands with limited supervision.
  • Be able to maintain strict confidentiality with demonstrated experience applying good judgment and discretion.
  • Have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Be a self-starter who is accountable and requires minimal direction and supervision; a person who is open to new ideas; and a creative and flexible individual who is comfortable working in a large, complex organization.
  • Possess the personal characteristics of professionalism, credibility, commitment to high standards, innovation, discriminating judgment and accountability.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Applications i.e., Outlook, Word and Excel
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • EPIC or similar EMR experience.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $54,664 - $67,944 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $26.18 - $32.54

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
