The University of Notre Dame Operations, Events & Safety (UOES) division is currently hiring for the position of Full Time Banquet Server at The Morris Inn. The UOES division leads the University’s event management, hospitality, and customer service functions while supporting student life, academic endeavors, and research initiatives.
Why this position?
This position will provide professional service to banquet guests and assist with the set-up of table service and tear-down service of banquet events. They will represent the university through service at high profile university events: Board of Trustees, Advisory Councils, College and alumni events including weddings, anniversary parties, funerals and social events.

They will represent the university through service at high profile university events: Board of Trustees, Advisory Councils, College and alumni events including weddings, anniversary parties, funerals and social events.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Prepare table service for functions as per direction of the Banquet Captain or Lead Banquet Server
- Follow written specifications provided by events department
- Participate in equipment removal following meal service
- Professionally serve banquet functions; serving food, pouring beverages, and handling special requests of guests in accordance with the Morris Inn methods and service standards
- Follow established guidelines for the safe handling of food
- Assist with coffee break service at the Notre Dame Conference Center
- Keep work area and equipment clean and in good working condition

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 6 to 12 months experience
- Excellent customer service skills needed in dealing with VIP clientele and with coworkers
- Able to work in occasional stressful situations and adjust to last minute changes smoothly
