The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.
Responsibilities
- Organizes retreat logistics and delivery for all retreats conducted in assigned region.
- Supports participant recruitment in assigned region. This includes briefing military personnel, distributing recruitment materials, and supporting dissemination of recruitment materials. Acts as a liaison between the research study and the local military communities and leaders to maintain a positive working relationship and facilitate access to participant populations.
- Engages with research participants via phone and email, to include ensuring their compliance with research tasks, providing support and troubleshooting, and maintaining positive relationships with participants. Maintain monthly status reports on participant progress.
- Serve as the primary facilitator for sub-clinical intervention retreats, ensuring adherence to the curriculum and providing a positive, engaging delivery of the curriculum. Oversee on-site operations throughout the retreat, to include coordinating with participants, vendors, and staff, and addressing any logistical challenges.
- Coordinates and communicates regularly with the research team via phone, email, and video conference.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree required. Master's degree preferred
- Minimum of 6-8 years experience required.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Prior experience in facilitating relationship education curriculum is required; training and certification in PREP-based relationship education curricula is preferred; must be able to facilitate relationship education curriculum for all couples in attendance
- Additional desired qualifications include strong group facilitation skills, communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, organizational and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Knowledge of federal and local regulations and policies pertinent to research involving human subjects. - Ability to obtain and maintain a T1/Public Trust background check.
Physical Capabilities
- Lifting: Requires lifting materials up to 10 lbs.
- Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.
Work Environment
- This position will be hybrid
- Travel may be required up to 20% to attend training, weekend retreats, and in-person meetings
Compensation:
- The hourly pay range for this position is $42.60-$65.00. Actual salary pay will be determined based on experience, education, etc.

Note: This work site requires that non-US Citizen incumbents have lived in the US three out of the past five years.
