Description

We are looking for a On Call Banquet Service person to work specific events as needed. This position is responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer service, quality and preferred standards are met at all times. Events can range from regular Banquet events to special events at our Award Winning rooftop bar Altitude Sky Lounge.

This is an on call position. At this time, candidates who are available on Saturday, 12/7/24 will be given priority consideration. Other candidates will be considered as other business needs arise. All candidates are encouraged to speak with their direct supervisor to make schedule arrangements for consideration.

This position pays $16.85 hr.

Candidates will maintain their primary positions and their primary department will be given priority for scheduling. The candidate must be available to work various shifts including, weekends and holidays as business needs dictate and as long as it does not interfere with primary job schedule. Please note overtime rules apply even while working multiple departments which could limit offers of shifts. For example, a Full Time Host will likely not be eligible unless he/she is working a reduced schedule in their primary position. See HR for any questions.

What will I be doing?

  1. Responsible for moving tables, chairs, staging and any other banquet equipment with proper use of hand trucks, carts and dollies in a safe manner.
  2. Set up banquet rooms exactly as the contract states: this includes chairs, tables, staging, risers, dance floor, skirting of tables, water stations, buffets, etc.
  3. Complete opening duties as assigned, including the following
    A. Check quality and quantity of all banquet stock and equipment.
    B. Fold napkins, per banquet standards
    C. Requisition all necessary supplies and transport from storerooms to banquet rooms.
    D. Set tables according to service standards.
    E. Set all condiments (sugar, bread, lemons, creamers, etc.) and beverages.
    F. Ensure a sufficient supply of all flatware, glassware and china for service.
    G. Ensure cleanliness and condition of assigned station and service areas.
    H. Set up station with supplies and equipment.
  4. Take Guests' food and beverage orders as needed.
  5. Retrieve all alcoholic beverage orders from bar as needed and serve to Guest in accordance with standards.
  6. Open wine/champagne bottles and serve in accordance with banquet standards.
  7. Make all varieties of coffee in accordance with banquet standard.
  8. Serve all food courses and beverage items, clear each course and bus tables in accordance with standards. Remove soiled wares from tables as assigned and transport to dish washing area.
  9. Anticipate Guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all Guests, however busy. Maintain positive Guest relations at all times.
  10. Interact in courteous and professional manner with Guests, supervisors, co-workers and other departments.
  11. Follow supervisor's instructions.
  12. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station and service areas

Requirements:

  • MUST HAVE THEIR SERVSAFE/FOOD HANDLERS CERTIFICATION OR WILL HAVE THEIR SERVSAFE CERTIFICATION COMPLETED ON OR BEFORE 12/1/24
  • Must have guest service experience, preferably in a hotel or restaurant setting
  • Must be able to multi-task in a busy environment, follow through on guest and employees requests, ensure guest satisfaction, and work as a team player
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential
  • Flexible schedule required for days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English with supervisor, fellow employees and guests
  • Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 35 pounds for a minimum of 300 feet.
  • Must be able to push or pull carts or equipment weighing 35 pounds or more.
