Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is seeking a Facilities Services Technician I to assist our Cabarrus County campuses. A Facilities Services Technician I has knowledge and expertise in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems maintenance and repair and can perform a variety of skilled maintenance work to repair, and remodel College buildings, facilities, electrical and mechanical systems, equipment, and fixtures as assigned.
Potential candidates should have to ability to safely operate College vehicles and equipment; practices safe work processes and contributes to the creation and maintenance of a safe working environment for self and others. Our Facilities Services Technician I position also has the ability to enroll in our apprenticeship program, giving them added knowledge and skills for additional promotional and pay increase opportunities.

Required Education/Experience:
- High School or equivalent
- Valid NC Driver’s license, with a good driving record
- One to three year(s) experience of mechanical, carpentry , industrial, building maintenance, and equipment operator, general maintenance or other related experience
Preferred Education/Experience/Skills:
- HVAC experience a plus
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of: Basic methods, materials, and equipment required for the maintenance, alteration, repair and operation of building systems; ability to maintain records and to prepare requisitions and job orders; ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with college staff and faculty.
Ability to use a computer and essential software applications such as building management systems, email, work order software, preventive maintenance software, and some word processing is required. Basic proficiency in the use of a computer and essential software applications such as email and some word processing is required.
