About the Role
As the Lecturer/Senior Lecturer, you will be expected to contribute to the teaching and research efforts of the School, in particular that of the Pharmaceutical Sciences discipline. More specifically, you are responsible for carrying out teaching activities within undergraduate and Honours degree programs and for maintaining and advancing your scholarly, research and/or professional capabilities. You will also be expected to actively promote the program by establishing and maintaining memberships, links and partnerships with academic, industry and professional communities. You will be expected to work collaboratively and collegially with fellow academics within the teaching team. You may also be responsible for course coordination.
Additionally, Senior Lecturer role will involve:
- Course coordination and leading the design, development, and improvement of curriculum
- Significant contribution to the delivery of programs and to be actively involved in research, scholarship and other professional activities
- Develop high-quality, productivity-driven networks across RMIT and with internal and external partners
- You also may have responsibility for program management
About You
To be successful for level B appointment, you will have:
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Sciences courses and programs, including online delivery, and the ability to produce high quality curriculum or program materials
- Demonstrated knowledge of Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Sciences, with specialist knowledge in one or more of the following areas: clinical research, ethics and governance, regulatory affairs
- Demonstrated ability to undertake course coordination role
- Demonstrated capacity to work effectively with and to negotiate sensitively with students especially on issues related to effective learning
- Emerging track record and recognition for quality research outputs which will contribute to existing Discipline and School research areas
- Capacity to supervise higher degree by research candidates
- Ability to build productive networks with colleagues and work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills appropriate for interacting with students, staff and industry, together with a strong commitment to teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration
In addition to the above, to be successful for level C appointment, you will have:
- Ability to coordinate large courses and implement innovative approaches to student-centred learning and quality improvement
- Capacity to undertake academic leadership roles, including those related to program management and work-integrated learning/placements
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and projects to achieve outcomes in a timely manner
- Emerging nationally recognized research track record including quality research outputs which will contribute to existing Discipline and School research areas
Qualifications
Mandatory for level B and C appointment:
PhD or equivalent in a field relevant to Pharmaceutical Sciences
Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children Check and other checks as required by the specific role. Maintaining a valid Working With Children Check is a condition of employment at RMIT.
