The Financial Services Administrator ac curately and effectively performs a full range of Financial Services duties in a student-centered office combined with Financial Aid. This position provides thorough information to students and their families about the cost of education and financing aid that are available to make a private college education affordable.
Responsibilities
- Provide high quality, student-centered service support to the Financial Aid and Financial Services offices through telephone, email, daily mail processing and related office tasks.
- Counsel and advising prospective and current students on the phone and in person regarding the financial aid process, financing options and student account information.
- Work collaboratively with the Bursar and Financial Aid staff as a liaison between students and the college to ensure data integrity.
- Effectively manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, ensuring timely and accurate support for students.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure compliance with financial aid regulations and policies.
- Utilize strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to resolve complex student financial aid issues.
- Responsible for the processing of loan certifications, state grants and outside scholarships.
- Collect and process necessary forms for tax verification, student loan counseling and disbursing college aid.
- Acts as the Tuition Exchange Liaison Officer (TELO) in processing tuition exchange applications and maintaining records.
- Serves as Co-School Certifying Official for our Veterans and Dependents.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) is preferred; a high school diploma is required.
- Adherence to a high level of confidentiality.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Demonstrated strong customer service skills.
- Accuracy with numbers and basic math skills.
- Proficiency with office computer technologies, particular relational databases.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with perspective students and their families, guidance counselors, Colby-Sawyer College students/faculty/staff/alumni and others.
