Job Summary
The laboratory of Dr. Nicole Gardner-Neblett in the Department of Psychology seeks to hire a Part-Time Research Technician Associate. This lab uses quantitative and qualitative methods to examine influences on language and literacy development among young children, with a focus on African American children's storytelling skills. Primary research questions include: What are teachers' perceptions of children's oral storytelling skills? How do parents socialize children to tell stories? What cognitive processes support children's storytelling and literacy development?
This would be an excellent position for a recent college graduate seeking to gain additional research experience prior to graduate school. The successful candidate will be reliable, conscientious, organized, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. This person will also possess excellent interpersonal and leadership skills and demonstrate cultural competence and a commitment to working with racially/ethnically diverse children and families.
